My Take - Automation is upon us. To think we won’t see more of this is faulty logic. By resisting the concept of automating the charging, much like using a Roomba room cleaner, defies all logic. This approach also makes every parking spot in a garage charging station capable vs. just a few spots by the exit gate as we see so often. It means shorter waits, or no wait at all, as well as removing the risk of going without a charge while you’re away from your car. As technology evolves, this will all be automated using location technology, a mobile app, a cloud based reservation system or even smarter, AI based reservation system.
